Biography

Kerry Beaumont (she/her) is Director of Enforcement and Resolution, one of five departments in the Financial Stability Group.

She joined Te Pūtea Matua in 2019 as Senior Legal Counsel to work on the Review of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1989, and subsequently led the drafting instructions for the Exposure Draft of the Deposit Takers Bill.

Before this, Kerry spent more than 19 years in private practice as a banking and finance lawyer in both New Zealand and Australia. She specialised in financial services regulation, structured finance and debt capital markets.

Kerry holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) / Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Canterbury (Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha).
