Jess joined Te Putea Matua in 2022. She is Director of Prudential Policy, responsible for prudential policy advice and research, as well as advice on specific financial stability policy settings across banks, non-bank deposit takers, insurers and financial market infrastructures.
Prior to joining the Reserve Bank, Jess worked at a large commercial law firm, before joining the public sector. She has held leadership roles in a number of government departments, including Inland Revenue, the Ministry for the Environment and The Treasury.
She holds a Masters of Laws (Hons), from the University of Auckland and a Bachelor of Management (Hons), in Finance and Economics, from the University of Waikato.
