New customer special residential mortgage average interest rate
The interest rates recorded here are simple averages of the special advertised (or ‘discounted’) first mortgage interest rates banks offered to new borrowers for residential property. Special rates or discounts are offered to borrowers who meet specific lending criteria, terms or conditions (for example, at least 30% equity). May not be available to all borrowers.
