Biography
Marea is currently serving as Acting Manager of the Research and Analytics team, a position she also held in 2023. She has held a range of leadership and advisory roles across the organisation, including Acting Manager of the Modelling team, Adviser in the Forecasting, Modelling and Central Banking Analytics teams, and Principal Adviser in the Data and Information Directorate. Before joining Te Pūtea Matua, she worked at the South African Reserve Bank, where she specialised in macroeconomic modelling and macroprudential policy. Marea holds an MPhil in Economics from the University of Oxford and a Master’s in Big Data Science from the University of Pretoria.
