Exemptions granted for non-bank deposit takers
This page lists the exemptions we have granted to non-bank deposit takers from some of the requirements of the Non-bank Deposit Takers Act 2013 (the Act). It also lists revoked exemptions.
Class exemptions
Non-bank Deposit Takers (Credit Ratings Minimum Threshold) Exemption Amendment Notice 2020
Commencement date: 28 February 2020
Expiry date: 29 February 2024
This is a class exemption for certain NBDTs from the requirement to have a mandatory credit rating under the Act. It is available if an NBDT has only just started business, or the consolidated liabilities of its borrowing group are less than $40 million, measured as an average over a 12-month period.
The exemption notice outlines certain conditions, including specified capital ratio requirements, that a NBDT must comply with to benefit from this class exemption.
