Biography
Tania O’Brien is the Director of Finance and Operations. She joined Te Pūtea Matua in April 2025. Tania is responsible for ensuring the integrity of RBNZ’s financial operations, systems, controls, and reporting, as well as in our overall procurement and property strategies.
Tania has an extensive career and experience in the Banking industry. Prior to joining RBNZ, she was Chief Financial Officer of Westpac New Zealand. She spent a long career with ANZ Group holding a range of senior executive finance and CFO roles in New Zealand, Australia, and the Asia Pacific. Most notably, she led ANZ’s finance functions across the South Asia region, with country specific responsibilities for Singapore to ensure the provision of accurate and timely financial information in a well-managed and controlled environment.
She is a Fellow Chartered Accountant, with an MBA from Massey University, and a B Comm from the University of Auckland.
