Banking & Financial Services Law Association (BFSLA) luncheon

Time: 1pm

Ben Thirkell-White, Manager Recovery and Resolution Policy, will speak to legal practitioners about the deposit taker resolution framework for the future at a BFSLA luncheon in Auckland.

Non-Bank Deposit Takers Association (NBDTA) Conference 

Jess Rowe, Director of Prudential Policy, will be part of a panel discussion on the regulatory environment for non-bank deposit takers at the annual NBDTA Conference in Auckland. 

The panel will be moderated by Emma Geard, Senior Associate, MinterEllisonRuddWatts. The other panellist will be Margie McCrone, Head of Deposit Taking, Financial Markets Authority.

Interview with SVT Ekonomibyrån 

Governor Anna Breman will give an interview for SVT Ekonomibyrån, a Swedish current affairs program. Governor Breman will discuss how New Zealand is navigating the current economic landscape and lessons learned from past economic challenges. The interview will be in Swedish.

New Zealand Society of Actuaries (NZSA) Appointed Actuaries Forum

David Wild, Head Actuary, and Sarah Nash, Manager Risk Specialists, will deliver a presentation at the NZSA Appointed Actuaries Forum. David will discuss the Reserve Bank’s approach to insurance supervision, including how supervisory priorities are evolving in response to emerging risks and how these activities support the Reserve Bank’s legislative objectives. Sarah will discuss supervisory priorities relating to operational resilience, technological transformation and the implications of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence.

Bank for International Settlements (BIS) Annual Conference 

Governor Breman will attend the 25th BIS Annual Conference, an invitation-only event for BIS shareholding Governors and selected guests.
