About the speech

Chief Economist Paul Conway will give a speech about global tariffs covering:

  • the various ways global tariffs will impact us here in New Zealand
  • how we are thinking through the impacts on inflation and the economy more broadly.

We'll publish the speech on our website at the time of delivery.

How to watch the speech

Mr Conway will deliver the speech at a Business NZ event, hosted by Buddle Findlay in Wellington. The speech is not being livestreamed, but a video recording of the speech will be made available as soon as practicable on our YouTube channel.

There are no published speaking notes or livestream for these events. 

Mr Conway will speak at a meeting of the NZ Construction Industry Council in Wellington, in an informal panel discussion on “Making sense of data”. 

 
 
Mr Conway will repeat his presentation on tariffs given on the day before, 24 July, and discuss the May Monetary Policy statement in a call with Bank of New Zealand finance and risk staff.
