About the speech

Māori access to capital has been a long-standing issue that has affected the prosperity of Māori economy and broader wellbeing of Aotearoa. Since the release of our issues paper in 2022, we have been actively bringing attention back to the issue and working towards solutions alongside the banking industry. This kōrero will cover why Māori access to capital is an important issue that requires a response from the whole economic ecosystem, with us sharing a few ways we are trying to play our role in this issue as the kaitiaki of the financial system.
