Reserve Bank closes NZ Government May 2026 nominal bond repurchases

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) will close its offer to repurchase New Zealand government bonds maturing 15 May 2026 on 1 May 2026 at 4:00pm.

The offer opened on 2 December 2025 and the RBNZ has repurchased $581 million (nominal value) of the May 2026 bond to date. No bonds have been on-sold to New Zealand Debt Management, and the RBNZ will hold these on its balance sheet until maturity.

This operation was undertaken to manage near term liquidity flows and to assist in the efficient functioning of New Zealand debt markets.
