Reserve Bank closes NZ Government May 2024 nominal bond repurchase programme

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) will close its offer to repurchase New Zealand government bonds maturing 15 May 2024 on 01 May 2024 at 4:00pm.

The offer opened on 13 November 2023 and will close at 4:00pm 01 May 2024. RBNZ repurchased 1.279 billion (nominal) of the May 2024 bond. No bonds have been on-sold to New Zealand Debt Management, and RBNZ will hold these on its balance sheet until maturity.

RBNZ said the offer was normal ahead of a government bond maturity to support system liquidity management, and the efficient functioning of the New Zealand bond market.
