Reserve Bank Financial Markets Statement — 20 September 2022

This Financial Markets Statement provides details of the facilities and services that will be operated by the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Financial Markets Department on 26 September 2022.

Members of the New Zealand Financial Markets Association have confirmed their New Zealand based wholesale markets functions will not be generally open for business on this date, and that accordingly, 26 September 2022 will generally not be a good value date for New Zealand Dollar over-the-counter wholesale financial markets transactions, including foreign exchange. This is because the New Zealand government announced 26 September 2022 as a one-off holiday to mark the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

However, the Financial Markets Infrastructure operator of ESAS and NZClear has confirmed both systems will be open on 26 September 2022 to support RTGS and other settlement activity (such as SBI and HVCS).

Standing facilities

  • Overnight Reverse Repurchase Facility (Automatic and Manual)  will be available to support system liquidity within ESAS.
  • Bond Lending Facility  will be available to support bond settlements within NZClear.

Publication of daily statistics

D3 and D12 statistical tables will be published.
