The Monetary Policy Statement at a glance
The Reserve Bank’s
Monetary Policy Statement (MPS) provides a quarterly picture of the New Zealand economy, how it is performing and
where the Bank thinks it is heading next. It is a snapshot in time, as the economy never stops moving.

This document is the Reserve Bank’s key way of publicly reporting on how the Bank is meeting its targets, including the goal of keeping prices stable. It sets out how the Bank has been implementing monetary policy and how it plans to do so in the next five years.
