Do you have a passion for financial data and statistics?  Have you worked in a financial institution and are looking for a new challenge?  Are you interested in central banking? We are seeking a highly motivated person to join the Statistics Team in the Data and Statistics Department at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand.

 

As a Senior Statistical Analyst in the Statistics Team you will be producing essential information used by a range of customers to better understand banking and financial markets in New Zealand. Your primary focus is to produce, analyse and disseminate high quality statistics and analytical reports.  You will also have the opportunity to lead key statistical outputs and developments to improve the range and quality of financial statistics for New Zealand.

 

The Bank is responsible for the formulation and implementation of public policy to maintain price stability and support maximum sustainable employment, and to promote and maintain a sound and efficient financial system.

 

Successful applicants will have:

  • A tertiary degree in finance, economics, statistics or a related field

  • At least four years of relevant work experience in either statistics or a financial institution

  • Strong analytical skills and sound judgement

  • Commitment to meeting deadlines

  • Well-developed interpersonal and relationship management skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Effective coaching skills

  • Advanced excel skills and statistical programming capability would be an advantage.
