Senior Economic Analyst Financial System Analysis
Due to a recent internal promotion we are seeking a new colleague to join our Financial System Analysis team.
Do you have a passion for economic analysis, and would you like to apply your strong analytical skills to analyse the risks facing New Zealand’s financial system?
Do you want to have real influence over policies that will affect the long-term economic performance of New Zealand?
Do you want to work in an environment that is intellectually stimulating and rewarding?
If your answer to these questions is yes, then you should consider applying for the Senior Economic Analyst role in our Financial System Policy & Analysis Department.
Working within the Financial Stability Group, you will be working in a team to identify, analyse and communicate key risks facing the financial system. This risk assessment plays an important role in informing public debate and guiding the Reserve Bank’s development of prudential policies for financial institutions. As part of this, you will have a key role in producing the six-monthly Financial Stability Report. You will also undertake in-depth research and analysis on risks to the stability and efficiency of the financial system.
To be successful in this position you will need to have:
- Strong tertiary qualifications in economics, finance or banking.
- A minimum of three years professional experience in the public and/or private sector.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and an ability to work effectively with data.
- An ability to communicate clearly to a range of audiences.
- Proven ability to work as part of a high achieving team.
An in-depth understanding of the financial system would be advantageous, but not essential if you have a strong understanding of key economic concepts.
The Reserve Bank is an inclusive and diverse workplace and welcomes applications from candidates with relevant experience in other sectors.
