  • Do you get energised by identifying opportunities and thinking strategically?
  • Your communications insights can shape our future direction
  • Newly created positions, based in either Wellington or Auckland

Are you an experienced strategic communications professional comfortable with designing and leading effective communications plans, programmes and strategies for business partners across an organisation? Are you motivated by exploring how your insights can shape your organisation's future culture?

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand is New Zealand's central bank. Our vision is to be a Great Team and the Best Central Bank. We operate with passion, integrity, innovation and inclusiveness. Our main objective is to promote a sound and dynamic monetary and financial system and to ultimately raise New Zealand's economic wellbeing.

To best meet the communications needs that come from our clear vision, we have created a number of new Communications positions to bring on additional talent to join us on our exciting journey of transformation. We are building a full-service Communications Department that is focused on providing highly effective, multi-channel stakeholder communications in a rapidly evolving financial landscape.

The Role

You will develop a deep understanding and knowledge of our varied stakeholders and the Bank's strategic plans and objectives to work as a business partner, in order to design and lead effective communications plans, programmes and strategies to support the achievement of our objectives. As a senior member of the team, you'll understand our key stakeholders and will have strong relationships with established financial and mainstream media partners. You will also mentor the Communications Advisers and work collaboratively to deliver consistent messages, and manage many competing priorities to ensure smooth workflow.

About You

As an experienced communications professional you will have sound experience identifying media opportunities and managing responses to sometimes complex, sensitive or challenging media requests. You may already have some financial knowledge and will definitely be stakeholder-focused. You are looking for your next challenge and want to move somewhere with a focus on innovation, where your skills and insights can have a real impact on our future culture and enhance our engagement with stakeholders.

Why us?

We are a growing team of committed communication professionals who are supportive and focused in our efforts. While we have an ambitious plan to deliver, we know we'll have fun along the way, celebrate our successes and make the most of the rich opportunities for growth and learning.

Our work has a big impact on the lives of all New Zealanders, and we carry that responsibility with pride. If you'd like to join a team of professionals who are passionate about the prosperity and wellbeing of New Zealanders, and contribute to a sustainable and productive economy, we would love to hear from you.
