Andy Wood joined the Reserve Bank in 2008 to lead the Bank’s oversight of non-bank deposit takers, i.e. finance companies, credit unions and building societies. Since then, Andy has held various supervisory management roles in the Bank’s Prudential Supervision Department.
The Supervision Department is responsible for the supervision of regulated firms across the banking and insurance sectors. It is also responsible for the oversight of NBDTs and Financial Market Infrastructures as well as the supervision of regulated firms’ compliance with AML/CFT legislation.
Prior to joining the Bank, Andy held risk management roles at the National Bank of New Zealand and Lloyds Bank in London. He has also worked on financial policy at the Ministry of Economic Development.
Andy holds a BA (Hons), Masters in International Relations and a Postgraduate Diploma in Banking.
