Vanessa Balshaw

Biography
Vanessa Balshaw leads the Finance directorate, which is responsible for ensuring the integrity of RBNZ’s financial operations, systems, controls and reporting. This includes providing strategic financial advice to enable RBNZ to meet its objectives.
Before joining RBNZ, Vanessa worked for global active investment manager Man Group in London for over 8 years, most recently as the Group Financial Controller. Prior to that Vanessa was with PwC in Luxembourg and Wellington.
Vanessa is a Chartered Accountant, a member of the Institute of Directors in New Zealand, and has a Bachelor of Commerce (with Honours) from the University of Otago. Vanessa is also a Trustee of Laura Fergusson Trust Wellington.
