Household financial assets, liabilities and housing values: annual series 1978 to 2010

Data published in the annual household financial assets and liabilities series released today includes revisions to previous years. The annual data incorporates revisions reported and published over the past year in regular monthly and quarterly financial surveys.

Other fixed interest assets

A methodology review and improved data capture has reduced the estimated value of retail bonds held directly by households. Retail bonds are the largest component of the fixed interest asset category in the ‘Other fixed interest assets’ classification. Data has been revised from 2004. Ongoing improvements in the treatment of retail bond data are likely to result in future revisions to the series.
