Biography:

Phil joined the Bank in 2003 and works in the Issues Team, which monitors the international economy and also undertakes research on domestic economic issues. Phil was previously at NZIER where he worked on economic forecasting and consulting projects.

Current research interests:

  • Household sector trends: saving, assets, debt, house prices
  • External trade, including commodity price movements and currency hedging
  • Labour market issues: wages, prices, productivity
