Austraclear Usergroup Meeting - 25 May 2001
Thank you to all the members who were able to attend the meeting in Auckland. We appreciated your participation and the opportunity to meet with you. A summary of the main points covered in the meeting is attached. Copies of the presentation are available on request from our Help Desk (04) 471 3897 or direct from our home page www.rbnz.govt.nz
Next Austraclear Usergroup Meeting - 16 November 2001
The next Austraclear Usergroup Meeting will be held 1.00pm on 16 November 2001 at the Park Royal Hotel in Wellington. The meeting will be held prior to the FMOA conference that will begin at 3.15pm. Also, all Austraclear users and members of the FMOA are invited to drinks at the Park Royal Hotel starting at 5.30pm. Agendas for the respective meetings will be sent to members of Austraclear and the FMOA in due course.
The Austraclear Network Encryption Enhancement
The Austraclear network software has been upgraded to rectify an existing problem and enhance the operation of encryption on the network. As at 16 July 2001, all traffic between the Austraclear system and directly connected customer networks is encrypted. The upgrade required a memory and software upgrade for all Austraclear routers located at customer sites.
The upgrade has gone extremely well and we would like to thank customers for assisting with testing during this process.
If you require any further information on the encryption please refer to Kevin Jamieson on 04 471 3616 or Peter Katz on 04 471 3711.
FX Module - Activity Reports Updated Half Hourly
The information in the FX Activity reports that show entered FX trades and unconfirmed FX trades was previously updated hourly. We have changed a system parameter that now allows the information in these reports to be updated half hourly. We understand that this should help operational efficiency for high volume users of the FX module.
RBNZ Registry
Computershare Limited commenced processing RBNZ registered fixed interest securities on 3 September using its own system.
Please note that Issuers effecting payments for interest and maturities should make them to RBNZ32.
Issuers are to continue to send Issue Notices to RBNZ Fax (04) 471-3860
Austraclear BCP Arrangements Finalised & Fully Tested
We have completed our BCP plan testing. In the event we are unable to operate from the Reserve Bank building, we can continue our business operations from Logical (NZ) Limited's premises at the Majestic Building, Boulcott Street, Wellington. Our plan provides for us to be fully operational within two hours. If we were to shift to our BCP site we would advise members of any specific arrangements by Smartfax within the hour. Also, if necessary, an extension to end of day processing would be automatic.
If the operating systems are affected by any significant outage in Wellington we will revert to the operating systems at our warm backup site in Auckland.
If you have any further queries relating to our BCP plan please refer to Peter Katz on (04) 471 3711.
ISIN Numbers - Changed Procedures
All ISIN numbers for fixed interest securities will be generated by BTPS. Therefore, all members using the FINEWISS function should no longer input the ISIN code - Austraclear operations will input the ISIN once the code has been confirmed by BTPS, (before the end of day). Members can use the Austraclear system to identify the ISIN of any security within the day.
If you have any questions relating to the ISIN codes please refer to either Barry Norton (04) 471 3682 or Peter Katz (04) 471 3711
Approved Issuer Levy Declarations
Following completion of the outsourcing of our Registry to BTPS, all AIL declarations should continue to be faxed to Austraclear Operations on (04) 471 3712. However in order to meet the system cut off times, we must receive these declarations no later than 4.00pm on books close.
If you have any queries relating to the AIL please refer to Peter Katz on (04) 471 3711.
Fixed Interest Lodges and Uplifts - Changed Process
Members will continue to send all transfer forms for both lodges and uplifts to Austraclear Operations in Wellington as normal. However, behind the scenes, our staff process the lodges on BTPS's Unishare system and authorise the lodges on Austraclear. We expect to process all lodges within an hour of reciept. For Uplifts, upon receipt of a partially completed transfer form from the member, we complete the form and send it to BTPS for processing. BTPS advise us once the uplift is completed and we subsequently authorise the uplift on Austraclear. We expect 90% of uplifts to be processed within the hour of receipt and the remainder to be completed by end of day.
Members should direct all enquiries relating to the status of the processing of their lodges and uplifts to our Austraclear help desk (04) 471 3974.
