Banknote upgrade project
Planning has begun to upgrade New Zealand’s current series of banknotes, as announced on 21 July 2011.
Prior to this, Nielsen was commissioned by the Bank to survey New Zealanders’ opinions of the current banknote series. This survey, carried out in 2010, focused on a number of areas, including public satisfaction with New Zealand currency.
This summary outlines some of the key findings in this specific area. The full report, RBNZ Bank Notes Survey -- Retailers (PDF 968KB) and RBNZ Bank Notes Survey – Consumers (PDF 1.6MB), is also available.
