Monetary Policy Challenge forecasting period begins. Your monetary policy decision will be based on statistical data from this period.

June 2009

10 June 2009

Teams’ monetary policy (1000 word) decisions are due by 5.00pm.

29 June 2009

Schools that have made it to the final for their region are informed. Schools’ names put on the Monetary Policy Challenge Website.

July 2009

3 July 2009 (term two ends) – 20 July 2009 (term three starts)

3 July – Regional finalists announced via website.

Teams’ monetary policy (1000 word) decisions are due by 5.00pm.

4 August 2009

PowerPoint or OHP (transparency) presentations to be sent to mpc@rbnz.govt.nz by 5.00pm.

10 – 17 August 2009

Regional final presentations take place nationwide. Teams will be notified of any changes to venues and dates

September 2009

3 September 2009

National final presentations in Wellington at the Reserve Bank.

10 September 2009

Reserve Bank hosts challenge winner on Monetary Policy Statement release day.
