All teams taking part in the Monetary Policy Challenge will receive certificates for participation, merit or distinction.

Regional winners

All six teams of regional winners will receive a $50 book token. Each regional winning team will travel to Wellington to compete in the national final on Thursday 21 August 2008. The Bank will cover the cost of travel to and from Wellington for each team member and one teacher. One night’s accommodation will be funded if travel cannot be completed in one day.

National winner

The national winner will be announced after the national final. Cash prizes are awarded to the winning schools:

1st place - $2,500

2nd place - $1,500

3rd place - $750

The winning team will travel to Wellington to spend Thursday 11 September 2008 at the Reserve Bank. You will be special guests of Reserve Bank Governor, Alan Bollard, as he delivers the Monetary Policy Statement. You’ll have lunch with senior decision makers and see first hand how economic theory is put into practice.
